dd20: decor crazy?

proof that there really is an "embellishment gene" and i have it fair and square: on friday, the 20th of december, my mother and i drove around to four different stores, looking for LED battery lights when it turned out that the ones i'd bought weeks ago glowed red instead of white. we found some, eventually, and came home to create a super-sparkly green and silver miniature christmas tree forest on my dining room table. because that's the way we roll!!! :)

(patterned paper: hambly + papersource sparkly red giftwrap; border sticker: crate paper; journaling spot: crafty secrets; chipboard thickers: american crafts; instagrammed pics printed on kodak premium glossy paper)
this page is built on a lovely (store-bought) gatefold christmas card our friends kim and dave sent us to celebrate our first holiday in the new house. as soon as i saw it, i knew i wanted to use it inside this journal! but even working really flatly, once i had added all the photos and things inside, it just didn't want to close properly. so i decided, instead of punching holes in it and adding it as a page like i originally intended, i'd make a little clear sleeve (out of the plastic cover from a photo album) to hold it. i love how it looks in the book, but WOW, it was verrrrrry hard to photograph! believe it or not, this is by far the best of the elebenty million pictures i took:

i've just about caught up on my pages, and will be posting the remainder today and tomorrow, so i'll see you again soon, darlings!
