colds 3, lauren 0

i am on my third cold since fall. though by "fall" i mean since mid-september when the season officially began, and not the last week or so when the weather has actually commenced to being fall-like here in new jersey. even i could not have squeezed in three colds since then.
...but still...

on the plus side, i took this fun little quiz this morning:

The Movie Of Your Life Is A Cult Classic

Quirky, offbeat, and even a little campy - your life appeals to a select few.
But if someone's obsessed with you, look out! Your fans are downright freaky.

Your best movie matches: Office Space, Showgirls, The Big Lebowski

...cult classic, eh...? yeah, that sounds about right! :) speaking of movies, paris je t'aime comes out today on dvd, and is as charming, quirky, and multi-faceted as the city itself!

bon jour, darlings!

*that is a grumpy-n-irritable "arrrgh" and not a piratey "arrrgh". one of the many advantages of piracy is that generally speaking, you don't get a lot of colds; what with the warm caribbean** weather and a diet full of vitamin-c rich tropical fruit. which is good because it is very, very difficult to get affordable health insurance coverage, even at group rates; what with the risky lifestyle, high incidence of alcohol-dependency issues, and frequent knife-fights. plus you know, not that many agents are willing to make ship-calls these days. so i s'pose it all balances out, really.

**yes, technically, you could be a pirate ANYWHERE in the world that has a body of water big enough to support ships and treasure; however there are very compelling reasons no one has made a big budget, blockbuster, 3-picture series called "pirates of the bering strait". savvy??!

  1. You are too funny...if I didn't know better, I might think you are overdosing on the cold meds:) You still "sound" like your quirky offbeat self in Blogland.

    A Downright Freaky Fan

  2. And don't be forgetting the scurvy. When you're listing common pirate ailments, I mean. I believe that's a piratey thing... although perhaps not with those Carribean pirates... who have tropical fruits, as you pointed out... But look, I had a point in here somewhere, which was only very marginally derived from Eddie Izzard's world-class ringing-in-sick-to-get-out-of-work excuse ("I'm sorry, I can't come in to work today - I've got scurvy. I live on a pirate ship and we just can't get the fruit.")

Crap, I've totally forgotten what my point was now... I think it was essentially: Boooo! for the third cold, which sucks, and I hope you feel better soon (maybe try appeasing it with hot honey-and-lemon drinks?). BUT: Hooray! - at least you don't have scurvy. Let us be thankful for that small mercy :o)

(Seriously, I hope you conquer those germs very soon. And in the meantime, try not to get snot on Tipsy, or HP8 will never fall for his charms!)

PS in the intrests of making this comment EVEN LONGER, I would just like to add that I'd pay big bucks to see all three installments of Pirates of the Bering Strait :o)

  3. Yeah .... what she said :)

Hope you feel better soon, me hearty. G-arrrrrghhhhh!

  4. OMG!!! SO funny!!!

    hope you feel better soon!!!

  5. Poor dear ... I sure hope you feel better soon ... and you are indeed a cult classic ... the kind that you want to watch over and over again. Thanks for my awesome mail today ... made my week.

  6. hope you're feelin better today. and i now wanna rent Paris Je T'aime.

  7. 3rd cold already??? Poor thing!!!! And I thought I was bad... :S Hope you feel better soon!!!!

But - like the vicious chicken - I'd pay a lot of money to see Pirates of the Bering Strait 1-3!!!! I love, love, love pirates (still waiting to meet a REAL one...) and I much prefer the Bering Strait to the Caribbean :D Alaska is one of my dream destinations what with lots of snow guaranteed and all that :D So, pirates AND cold icy waters = PERFECT!!! :D :D

the *BEST* part of blogging is the comments, dontcha think? thanks for taking time to leave one! ~♥~
