operation 35: START

ok, this is one of my favorite paper adventure pages ever because:

1. i loved the prompt (make a page about something we've just begun; in this case, my art journal!)

2. i loved MAKING the page (as you know, i will do freeform collage/indian themes at the least excuse!)

3. i love how it came out (what was in my head actually made it ONTO THE PAGE! heaven!)

see?

(lotsa fun vintage/funky bits including: sheet music, bengali newspaper, butterflies & typeface from an old children's book, plus images cut from magazines; journaling card: making memories; chipboard letters: heidi swapp, basic grey; decorative chipboard: maya road, k&co; rub-ons: sassafrass, fancy pants, autumn leaves, mambi; flowers: prima; gems: mambi; other: diamond glaze, colorbox inks, foam tape, uniball pen)

i think i'm gonna love doing this week's page, also. it's called "collections" ...and booooooooooooooy howdy do i have a variety of choices for that one! (can you say "pack rat"?!) yippeeeeeee!

  1. Collections? Are there enough journals in the world to write in to list the variety of papers you use, not to mention embellies!

I like your page, it is so very Lauren...pink, Indian, magazine bits, crown, bling,etc....but I would have expected more flowers :)

  7. So Miss Lauren ... what is your process for saving images from magazines? are there some magazines that are better than others? how do you organize and store them? You always seem to have such an amazing combination of great 'stuff' ... love it all.

  8. Lauren, I just love this journey that you take us on with your art journal. You seem to be truly inspired by the challenges and each page shows us a new side of you. I appreciate your input on my blog...sometimes it feels like I'm all alone out there in cyberspace and it's nice to know that someone is watching once in a while.
