sketchy thursday, on wednesday, like always

*SOMEDAY* i will turn one of these in with more than a 12-hour window left 'til the deadline... and that is how you'll know i've been replaced by a realistic (but crafty) android! please alert the authorities! :)

in the meantime, here is the sketch, which rocks, naturally:

oof and btw, i should mention that last week's awesome and minimalist sketch (which i so ruthlessly maximalized) was conceived by the brilliant miss heidi and not the lovely miss diana like i told you. i apologize for the error, but since both ladies are equally ♥FAB♥ and also co-founders of the very cool sketchy thursday challenge site, i hope they will not mind too much!

oh yeah and in addition to the ST sketch, i used this week's rather dishy color palette of bright yellow, kraft and white from design dollies...that miss leah can sure rock the neutrals, no?!

and now, finally, here is the card in question:

(patterned paper & chipboard corner: basic grey; black cardstock: core'dinations; glossy white cardstock: ranger; vintage: sheet music, butterfly illustration & lace; perfume label sticker: laughing elephant; eiffel tower rub-on: tulip; diamond border sticker: heidi swapp; flowers: prima; rhinestones: kaiser; adhesives: tombow monorunner, 3m foam tape, sewing machine)

  1. Loving this!!! Where do I get a fab elephant like that!!! I want, so cute! And you are definitely rocking the card versions of the sketches! Great job sweets!

And I'm pretty sure Heidi and I don't mind when you mix us up. :) It's a compliment either way it goes, we love each others' work. :)

  2. So ... does that mean that oli is from vegetable elephants or that the elephants are vegetarian? Really hope it is the latter because would hate to find seasonal workers to harvest the elephant trees.

  3. Happy Wednesday to you as well...and how could it not be happy when viewing a simply gorgeous creation such as this!!

  4. Are there a lot of elephants roaming around Paris? Hmmm...I love elephants, as I think I have mentioned that my bedroom pillows have elephants, and the tapestry in our bedroom has an elephant, an there is a picture of an elephant above dh's dresser...

  5. Oh my, what a gorgeous piece of art you've created here, Lauren. That elephant is amazing and showcased perfectly in your card. Inspiring as always.

  6. wow! beautiful take on the sketch! gorgeous card!

  8. Oooh I am officially in love with that card!!! Amazing take on the Dollies colours.

I love that word 'maximalised' - too funny.

  9. Another piece of art Lauren!!!
yummmm So much going on in your card, and still it's relaxing to look at it.. Really LOOOOVE the yellow color you've used. I'm official in love with it toooo.
    :-) Linda

  10. This is magnificent. Lovin' the rich colors. I am amazed, yet again, with your talents.

  11. Too awesome, loving all the details, and the elephant and the Eiffel tower of course...!
