Liquid Pearls Winter Bluebird Card

Did you know that dry Liquid Pearls will act as a resist for diluted colors? It's a similar technique to using a heat embossed design as a resist for watercolor, and is currently one of my very favorite things to do with my growing collection of shimmery colors. Head over to the Ranger Project Tutorials Page to see, step-by-step, how I created this shimmery winter bluebird card, featuring Dina Wakley's adorable Scribbly Birdie Stamps and Simon Hurley's beautiful Stained Glass Stencil.

Plaid(ish) Stripes

Stretching the concept of Mandala Monday pretty far with a (sort of) plaid design made by masking off a few horizontal and vertical stripes with tape, watercoloring over the masked bits with analogous colors of Liquid Pearls, letting them dry, peeling the tape, and doodling mandala(ish) shapes with my Letter It Fineliners inside the unpainted bits.

There's a bit more detail about watercoloring with Liquid Pearls on this Thank You Card post and this Birthday Card post both on the Ranger Project Tutorials Page, which is absolutely loaded with awesome ideas from a variety of papercrafting artists. Plus you can filter or search by occasion, product or project type which is handy! ♥

Liquid Pearls and Stickles Rainbow Thank You Card

I'm delighted to be on the Ranger Project Page today with a timely Thank You Card tutorial, featuring bright and cheerful rainbow shades of Liquid Pearls (which I've thinned down a bit and used like sheer, shimmery acrylic paint; which... afterall... is what they actually are; thank you Patti Behan for that inspiring insight!) and set off with Glittery Stickles, gorgeous bright Archival Inks and White Embossing... which always looks very fresh and clean, imo. I'd love for you to check out the full post, if you have a minute!

Embossed Holiday Treescape Tags

The holiday season is here and in my opinion, there is no such thing as too much sparkle and shine! For this project I've used Ranger's Winter Wonderland Bundle of Verdigris and Green Tinsel Embossing Powders paired with White Opal and Bahama Bay Liquid Pearls to decorate a trio of terrific treescape tags featuring Wendy Vecchi's MAKE ART Statements Chippies and Simon Hurley's create. Treescapes and Winter Wonderland stamp sets. There are step-by-step instructions on the Ranger Project Page. And while you're over there, why not check out ALL of the fabulous and inspiring Ranger Bundles?!

Wendy Vecchi Colorful Cake Cards

Head on over to the Ranger Blog and follow along as I use Wendy Vecchi's "Birthday Bash" and "Merci and More" Stamp, Die and Stencil sets with coordinated shades of Archival Inks and Liquid Pearls to add as much color as possible to a pair of mini slimline birthday cards. I'm kinda proud to have thought of another way to use coordinating dies, as well... for making the perfect aperture to hold fussycut stamped elements! Check out this post for all the details.
