Challenge 74: Out of the Jar
Use anything that came in a jar: flower soft, glitter, perfect pearls, embossing powder, etc.
OR
Use a jar image: whether stamped, cut from patterned paper, in a vintage photo
OR
Make something using an actual jar: decorate it, fill it with treats, make it into storage... it's up to you!
i hope you're not getting tired of seeing my beloved dear lizzy mason jars, cut from american crafts' twinkling lights paper; because i still have about ten of those babies left and i'm planning to use every single one!!! starting now:
(patterned paper: american crafts, echo park, crate paper, prima; cardstock diecuts: echo park; decorative scissors: ek success; other: doily; adhesives: staples brand gluetape runner, 3m foam tape, scotch gluestick, sewing machine)
can you believe how amazingly well the "happy day" cardstock label fits on the heart-festooned jar? all i had to do was trim the edges a teeny bit et voila instant focal point! a couple of mats, part of a doily, and a few fussy-cut butterflies later, i had the PERFECT summery card; just in time for... (sigh) autumn. ah well. apart from my timing being off, i am really pleased with this one.
and now i hope you'll hop over to SOS and see what my amazing fellow design team-mates have done for this fun challenge... and then link up your own card or project!
shhh, maybe if we don't tell the butterflies they won't realize what time of year it is? (As an aside, it's still so warm here for October that the starlings haven't left our carport yet...I'm waiting rather impatiently so we can have un-besmirched cars once again! Sad when you have to warn guests about the 'bombing' they're gonna get!)
ReplyDeleteThat label was MADE for that jar - and I'm loving that orange gingham peeking out! I so totally hear you on the unsightly smudges front...took me forever to embrace white space. Patting it gently on the shoulder seems to be where we're at ;)
Another fab SOS challenge and another beautiful Lauren card! Use those jars...I love 'em. I finally ordered a Mason jar stamp set, but it has not arrived yet ;)
ReplyDelete...sigh....I really love this...jar and butterflies = perfection!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. I have a jar stamp from stamping up that I could use for this challenge. I am going to try to make time. I love your card. Those butterflies are so pretty. The card is gorgeous. I just love seeing your stuff.
ReplyDeleteI prefer using Fevikwik Instant Adhesive to decorate those greeting cards or craft items
ReplyDeleteLauren, your card couldn't be any more beautiful! You make your wonderful creations look effortless and always lovely.

ReplyDeleteLauren - This is beautiful! That jar is great and I can't wait to see what you do with the rest of them! Gorgeous butterflies too! Beautiful work, as always!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Michelle
I cannot believe I own no jar images, printed or stampy. And I agree with the white smudgy issue. That's why we have butterflies and bling, right!?
