flying home for christmas!

this week at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ we have a super-fun prompt for you, we like to call it "flying home for christmas"! so what do we mean? well, how 'bout we all make holiday cards that feature something that flies... like rudolph, santa's sleigh, an angel, cardinals, christmas robins, a dove of peace, etc?! there are plenty of possibilities, so get as creative as you like, we cannot wait to see what you will do. in the meantime, here's my card:

(patterned paper: echo park, dcwv, basic grey + holly giftwrap from target; mini bingo card (enlarged w/my scanner): jenni bowlin; santa's sleigh picture card: october afternoon holiday miscellany; sentiment sticker: making memories; nested heart dies: cuttlebug; tree die: sizzix; border punch: recollections; chipboard border sticker: my mind's eye; ink: colorbox; adhesives: staples brand gluetape runner, 3m foam tape, gluedots, sewing machine)
yep, i went really traditional, but actually, once i had found the cuuuuuuuuuuute little card with santa and his sleigh on it, and grabbed my trusty ziplock bag full of xmas "leftovers" this thing sort of just made it self, thanks to this week's super sketchy sunday sketch from 365 cards!

i was also very inspired by this awesome springy and/or xmassy color palette from pile it on, but since i'm only linking to a few challenges-- less of a pile, more of a neat little stack, really!-- i might get disqualified, lol! :) :) :)

and as you know, most fridays, i like to link up with miss patrice!

speaking of links, we hope you'll add one your card to our "flying home for christmas gallery" at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ because for one thing, we loooooooooooove to see what you make, and for another, there might be a little random giftie for one lucky cardmaker, you just never know, do you, darlings?!

  8. Oh, I just love this Lauren! That Santa card is adorable and fabulously vintage! Fantastically combined with so many fun Christmasy elements! I often wonder how on earth you organize all these fab finds of yours so that you can find them again... I have a system, but the best way I know how to remember to actually use what I have is to spend time thumbing through things once in awhile for inspiration and go from there.
Anyhow, I hope you've had a fabuloso weekend!
    Hugs,
    Shanna :)
p.s. First park visit for my boys (this season)and my adorable 9 month old nephew (first ever!) today - there is still SNOW though none has actually fallen from the sky since Monday - the photos I took will be hilarious with all that snow in the background!!! Will have to share them...

  13. This turned out amazing!! I love the card you used on it with the sled image. The colors are so neat too. I might have to try to get something together for this prompt if I can. I haven't made a card in quite awhile.I've not been really feeling cards lately. I need to make a few though. (grad, mothers day and teacher appreciation week is coming up! ack!)
