let the flakes fall where they may

we've got a brand new prompt at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ this week, suggested by our lovely guest star, leslie turner, who wrote in and suggested that very cool title which she thought-- and we heartily agreed-- would be the perfect backdrop for holiday cards featuring snowflakes, snowmen, snowy landscapes or, basically, any kind of snow you'd care to show! i went with the traditional "snow" colors of merlot and copper. obviously. :)

merlot color burst pigment powder by ken oliver crafts; copper embossing paste: dreamweaver; gesso: liquitex; stencils and snowflake dies: tim holtz; glitter paper: american crafts pow (copper) and best creation (white); oversized pink pearl brad: eyelet outlet; raspberry cardstock: core'dinations; white kromekote cardstock: the paper cut; adhesives: elmers brand gluetape, 3m foam tape, sewing machine

ok, no, it's not a traditional card in any sense of the word. but i found two funky panels leftover from experiments involving color burst, stencils, gesso and copper embossing paste, and one of my crazier card ideas was born. i even think i already know to whom i will send this one... since i happen to have an art-loving, snow-loving friend who celebrates the solstice more than christmas. come to think of it, the "merlot" connection will not go amiss there, either, lol!

be sure to jump on over to ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ where stephanie and leslie turner also have gorgeous snow-related cards to share with you!

  1. Gorgeous I love your "traditional" colours. My daughter also celebrates the pagan holidays and would really love this card.
