no foolin'!

it's april first, but that's not especially relevant at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ since it's also friday and every single friday --january through november-- we like to bring you a little bit of xmas card inspiration; because let's face it, december is hectic enough, isn't it? this fortnight we're celebrating the denizens of the north pole, so we'd love to see cards that feature mrs. claus, the elves, the reindeer, and yes, of course, santa baby himself!!!

santa tag from the holiday gift wrap section at target last december; velvetty poinsettia from the floral decor section of michaels, also last holiday season; awesome glass-looking (but plastic) candy cane from a lovely crafty friend a few years ago (not hoarding... just "deploying judiciously"... which is totally different... totally...); patterned paper: dcwv, pebbles; "25" diecut: october afternoon; ribbon: american crafts; glossy white cardstock: paper accents; ink: colorbox; adhesives: elmer's brand gluetape, 3m foam tape, lots and lots of gluedots, sewing machine

a few weeks ago i posted a card that made use of a super-cute santa gift tag i had gotten at target last december; as it happens, they had a lot of cool/inexpensive tags over the holidays and i may have stocked up a bit, lol. this santa is another of those. actually he's two more of those, since the nice thing about having multiples is that you could... say... fussy cut santa's cute sparkly glittery face out of one tag and pop it on top of another tag to give the whole thing dimension. so i did! :) i used the current sketch saturday layout (#405), which i think you'll agree is pretty fab:

this thing was composed only of paper and the large but flat velvetty poinsettia, and thus was shaping up to be quite postal-friendly until i found the gorgeous plastic-but-looks-like-glass candy cane and just could. not. resist. oh well, i'll have to send this one inside a package with a gift. (worth it though, imo!)

stephanie has also made a gorgeous card, and the readers' gallery is already quite wonderful, why not treat yourself to a trip over to ♥JINGLE BELLES♥?!
