*VOTE* to shop your stash!!!

oh yeah, and apparently, there are a couple of choices for president, today, too!!! :) so after you've gone and cast a ballot for that, why not head over to shopping our stash where the executive order is our awesome challenge to make a project in which you show us your BEST BUY EVER! be sure to tell us what it was in your post-- you know how we love to hear your awesome stash stories!!!

my card is another "electricity free" entry, and again i've photographed it at my mother's house, but it was a bit of a grey day, this time. did i mention they're predicting *SNOW* tomorrow here in new jersey? a bit worrying if your only "heating system" is three pots of boiling water! so let's think about my card instead, eh?!

(peacock feathers: m+j trimmings; patterned paper: my mind's eye, studio calico, basic grey, prima, dcwv, k and co; peacock digi: julia makotinsky, india travels; flower: prima; embossing folder: cuttlebug; border punches: recollections; innk: martha stewart; adhesives: staples brand gluetape runner, 3m foam tape, gluedots)

my "best buy" is the peacock tail feather ornament which came from M+J trimmings in new york and was thus not what you could call CHEAP... but i still consider it one of my favorite all-time finds as my friend kim absolutely LOVES peacocks and i wanted to make her a really special birthday card this year. the peacock's head and body are from a julia makotinsky digital kit called "travels, india" that i got several years ago. everything else is not only stash but was either a scrap or a leftover, because at the moment my "process" is to use the dusk hour to gather what i need and then throw my card together the next morning when the light is better-- but time is short! then i do photos at lunchtime when i stop by my mother's house for grilled cheese and other modern conveniences!

many thanks to miss carla for editing my iphone photo into something which makes it MUCH EASIER to see the details!!!

speaking of convenience, this week's unscripted sketch certainly made MY crafty life easier!!!

and now why not check out the SOS design team cards and start making something we can all come and admire!!! :)

  4. Brrr. Not envious of you at all. We had some snow last night and ice this morning. Not much but it is chilly. Bundle up chickaroo. Don't get chilled. Maybe stay with mom for a bit till the lights come back on. Kind of ridiculous that it is taking so long to fix in this day and age!! Gorgeous card though! Love the trim.

  7. What a great card ... Love it ... and love your Mom's house! Not that I'd ever have peacock feathers in the house ... being superstitious ... But I really hope you get back to normal very soon ... thinking of you and sending a warm hug ♥♥♥

  14. Lauren- Sorry you are still without power!!! Ugh!! No fun I know. Thats crazy cuz my family over in Hamilton got there's back last week. Joseph was going to take them our generator cuz he's been working in PA nearly every other day, but...they didn't need it.
Anyway, LOVE your card! Gorgeous! Love the peacock and his gorgeous tail feathers. (We live in farm country and a "neighbor" several miles away used to have a couple of peacocks. I have a whole vase of the feathers in my foyer. They are gorgeous!)
Hope and pray your power comes back on soon!
    Blessings,
    Michelle
