i'm pleased and proud to have been honored this week with a guest design gig at one of my favorite challenge blogs, the shabby tea room, and the inspiration for week #139 is particularly fabulous, so i cannot wait to show you!
to play along, just use the colors in the photo to make the papercrafting project of your choice, and be sure to include at least one *PUMPKIN*!!! easy peasy! this one was SO INSPIRING i was able to make a card even without electricity, so you have NO excuse not to play, right?! here's my card:
(vintage: lace, fabric dogwood blossoms, text paper die cut into leaves using cuttlebug dies; patterned paper: basic grey, prima, pink paislee, glitz, authentique, making memories; brads: crate paper; chipboard letters: jenni bowlin studio; border punches: rocollections; ink: colorbox; adhesives: staples brand gluetape runner, 3m foam tape, sewing machine... hand-cranked all the way!!!)
i have to say that while nothing has been exactly *EASY* this week... (we lost our electricity, water, heat and internet monday night thanks to a certain miss hurricane sandy, ta v much, and are still waiting for it to return!) ...making this card was BY FAR the most fun i have had, and it really felt great to do something creative! luckily, i was able work early in the morning when the light is best in my dining room, and then bring the completed card (and my iphone) to my mom's to stage a photo shoot and upload the photo to my blog. believe it or not, all of the "props" in the photo were just sitting about as decorations, and the windows in my mother's garden room make a nice bright backdrop, don't they? niece madeline and nephew matthew were even on hand to offer styling advice AND share their halloween candy, so it made for a super-easy job!
i hope you will be inspired to check out all of the glorious projects by the lovely miss debbie and the rest of the amazing design team at the shabby tearoom, and then link up your own fabulous work! i can't wait to see what *YOU* will make!
