it's the most wonderful time of the year

the most wonderful time of the ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ year, that is; i'm always extra excited for the first prompt of october to come along because it's always ♥PINK CHRISTMAS♥! thus, not only does this particular fortnight produce-- in my opinion-- some of the best holiday cards of the whole entire year, it also allows us to salute all the courageous women in our lives who are fighting or have fought breast cancer, whilst also helping us raise money and awareness for the susan g. komen foundation! once again this year, stephanie and i are each donating $2 for every card linked to this prompt at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ and we're hoping to reach our highest total yet, so if you have a few minutes, why not start thinking about xmas cards and help support an awesome cause? all we ask is that you make a new holiday card (or two... or ten?) with some noticeable pink on it, link it to the pink christmas post and spread the word. we've made the latter as easy for you as possible, by creating a cool pink challenge graphic* and composing a paste-able blurb that you're welcome to use on your own blog:

The "Pink Christmas" prompt will run at JINGLE BELLES from 12am on Friday, October 10th to 6pm on Wednesday, October 22nd; as in previous years, Stephanie and Lauren pledge to donate $4 per linked-up card to The Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The only requirement is that all link-ups be NEW holiday cards with some noticeable pink on them... so in other words, not just Rudolph's NOSE, lol!

Participants may use sketches, combine challenges, and include any other colors in addition to pink; you can showcase however many cards you'd like in one post, don't worry, we'll still count every single one of them towards the total!

Thank you very much for your support!
♥♥♥

ok, now that all the shameless self-promotion is over, do you want to see my card? before i show you, i should mention that you definitely don't have to make a card that's ALL pink... but you can if you want to... and (of course!) i did!!! :)

patterned papers (mostly scraps and hardly any xmassy ones!): doodlebug, teresa collins, echo park, my mind's eye, glitz designs, fancy pants, making memories; rhinestone snowflake: want2scrap; snowflake die: spellbinders; ribbon and ball trimming from my stash; decorative scissors from the paleolithic crafting era: ye olde michaels; ink: colorbox; adhesives: elmer's brand gluetape runner, 3m foam tape, gluedots, sewing machine

in case you're thinking to yourself, "hey lauren, i'd love to join in but i don't have any christmassy papers or embellishments that are pink!" well, that's ok, because apart from the little strip of echo park patterned paper that says "happy holidays" there are absolutely NO pink holiday products on this card! i drew an ornament shape, raided my file of all-occasion pink patterned paper scraps, added a few white and silver snowflakes, found a tiny bit of pink ribbon and VOILA: pink christmas!!! it's that easy, and it's LOTS of fun, so i hope you'll join us, because this is one of those times that more definitely IS merrier!

to that end, our lovely friend, cardmaker extraordinaire jessi fogan is joining us, so i hope you'll pop over to ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ too see what she and stephanie have made and start planning your card (or cards?!) for ♥PINK CHRISTMAS♥!!!

*ok, yeah, it's really just our regular JINGLE BELLES 2014 header tinted pink in photoshop with some extra words on top, but still, it looks pretty good, dontcha think? :)
