this week at shopping our stash not only do we have one of the best titles EVER, we're also celebrating texture-- which you know i ♥LOVE♥-- this time in the form of corrugated cardboard, crimped paper or cardstock, or even rickrack, which you have to admit kind of looks like crimped ribbon, doesn't it?! i went with corrugated cardboard, which i think makes the PERFECT base for a papercrafty cupcake:
you'll have sussed that this is the bag which will contain nephew matthew's birthday gifts. at the moment, his main present is still being crocheted, but i am nearly done. i need to sew all the crocheted bits together, which i'll admit is *NOT* my favorite part of the process. actually, i'm not sure i know a knitter or crocheter who loves that part, which in yarncraft lingo is called "finishing". it's not that it's difficult, it's just fussy; and it absolutely ALWAYS takes elebenty times longer than one thinks it will. worth it in the end, though, so i'd better get myself in gear before the big day of september 19th!
meanwhile, why not check out the delightful "crimpy" projects my SOS teammates have made for your delight, while you're there you can start planning your own!
Will you be my aunt, PLEASE?!?!
