rein(deer) check

wouldja believe i not only got ANOTHER 2S4Y sketch card done before the saturday night deadline... (this is 2 weeks in a row, folks--i'm schmmmmokin' here!) ...but i actually made it on a WEEKNIGHT?!? (consternation! uproar!*) yes, i am kind of a superwoman, actually. thank you for noticing. ♥

ok so first the sketch:
(miss laura's #13 for those of you scoring at home)

and then the card:
(you'll notice i have rotated the sketch 90 degrees)


(patterned paper: scenic route, love elsie, dcwv, mustard moon, sei; felt brackets: american crafts; word stickers: unknown...but probably dcwv; fabric tab: scrapworks; rub-on check mark: polar bear press; other: colorbox inks, zig pen, foam tape, piece of american crafts decorative edge paper used as template for scallops)

this cute little reindeer was cut from a gift tag... (possibly from borders after xmas the year before last, but i would not swear to it) ...he is another compromise between the monsta xmas and sensible christmas genres. i don't think there are going to be too many truly sensible christmas cards this year on my part. ah well. sensible is over-rated, innit??!

*only kristie will get this joke...and i'm fine with that...for anyone else who's interested, it's one of the least significant lines from a rather obscure monty python sketch called "dim of the yard" ;)

    Three things:

    1) Your Christmas cards are all so faberoonie! I have talent envy :o(

    2) Yes, sensible is heavily over-rated.

    3) I *so* got the "consternation! uproar!" reference too!! I don't want to muscle in on a private joke, of course... but as I'm a big fan of obscure Python lines, I'm afraid I couldn't help being amused and had already chortled before reading your footnote... sorry about that :o)

    Ah, I'm so glad that we are not the only people who get weird and obscure jokes...yay for the VC. However, I must protest at you making very funny jokes when I'm drinking hot coffee...although on second thought it's probably my own fault as I realy should know better than to drink hot beverages whilst reading your blog :)
    On to the card, yes? The reindeer is almost as cute as the monsters but I'm afraid that the red and green combo makes it a little too sensible...LMBO!!! Although the amusing post title and the ticked off reindeer kinda makes up for it's sensible colour scheme.
    Oh, and I'm STILL laughing!

    I was thinking of you just last nite b/c I saw this...http://onegoodbumblebee.com/item.php?item_id=48 do you know One Good Bumblebee? so, if you bot this "pile of paper" it wouldn't be the same as acquiring it at a tag sale/swap meet, you wouldn't get the same satisfaction in the purchase, but there's gotta be something said about getting a ton of fun stuff all at once!!!
