this week's shopping our stash is great in that it's something i've NEVER thought of before! the brief? incorporate more than one fold... OR... add some pleats... to your card or project! i had to really think about this one, which is one of the things i love about challenges! i had a bunch of ideas, but when i found this beautiful bit of very old, totally neglected pleated ribbon, i knew i had to use it. the result is a combination of some of my very OLDEST stash with some of my very NEWEST purchases--which just makes everything better, don't you think?
(patterned paper: brnad new totally beloved amy tangerine + a bit of the equally new and cool packaging from some pink paislee collage cards; pleated ribbon: from a sewing store somewhere, long, lonnnnnnng ago (not a galaxy far, far away, however; this stuff is definitely earth-based!); velvet ribbon and buckle (MAYBE even older than the pleated one!!!): making memories; rub-on that is VERY old indeed but still went on perfectly: fancy pants; flowers: michaels; pearls: want2scrap; pins: making memories and little yellow bicylcle; brads: my mind's eye; adhesives: tombow monorunner, gluedots, sewing machine)
you'll notice there's no sentiment, and that's intentional; i make 90% of my cards specifically with a certain person in mind, but i do like to keep a few "unaffiliated", so that in an emergency they can be used in whatever way i need them. i think this would work for any number of occasions, and i like that i don't necessarily have to decide right now!
i used the current cardabilities sketch (#58) which i loooove; it's shown as a tag, so i hope it's ok that i made a card, but even if i'm disqualified i say, "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" to those lovely ladies, because it was this fabulous map that really got me going once i had chosen my stuffs:
super gorgeous....wow! love the pleats and pops of pink!

Beautiful, love the pleated ribbon, the fab paper and the fun hat pins - i love everything really! I too like to have a few in the stash that are unspoken for, it definitely helps when I get myself in a pickle!
