this week at shopping our stash we have a challenge for you that's twice as nice: we call it "embossing times two" and what we mean is we want to see a project that uses two embossing folders OR two colors of embossing powder OR one of each.
in the true spirit of shopping our stash every single bit of this card was created from scraps and leftovers, woohoo! both embossed panels (which use coordinations cardstock and cuttlebug embossing folders) were already made... i just layered them together. the little paper flags (bo bunny, current, and making memories) were snipped into shape from the scraps pile. my psx butterfly was embossed with psx black powder on a scrap of dcwv swirly paper. the doodlebug plaid flower and creative imaginations brad came from my (fairly elderly) stash and all that remains are some swipes of colorbox ink and loads of machine stitching. the end! :) :) :) |
i went with the "two embossing folders" choice; using one with the raised and sanded bit face up, and another with the pattern pressed down into (aka debossed) the paper. but then at the last minute i decided to add a butterfly to my little floral stack, so i heat embossed it, and fussy cut around... swiping the edges with a little permanent black ink just to make my cutting look extra neat ;)
i used this week's awesome unscripted sketch (#225) for my layout:
and now, why not hop over and see what my amazing DT-mates have created for you at shopping our stash, then start planning your own embossing double-take! ♥
You always blow me away with your detail. Wowza.
