i am always excited when the new prompts go up at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ but somehow, i am especially happy when we have a sketch, because there's just something SO COOL about seeing that whole row of thumbnails where every layout is the same... and yet each card is still unique and different! i love that! and this time the sketch in question has been provided for us by the uber-talented allison fillo, which means you are SURE to love it! i know i've mentioned allison's blog a zillion times, but i'll say once again, whether you're looking for papercrafting inspiration from her own lovely work, OR checking out her brilliant round-up feature of ALL the week's sketches from around the blogospher, OR even just in the mood for something fun and funny to make you smile, stampin' when i can is definitely the place to go!
but now, let me show you my card, because i really like this one:
(vintage: german scrap santa, hungarian text paper; patterned paper: basic grey; rhinestones: tps ("joy") and k and co; tape: 7 gypsies; ink: colorbox; adhesives: staples brand gluetape runner, 3m foam tape, sewing machine)
for once i have followed the sketch soooooooooo very faithfully, i almost don't even need to show it to you, but allison does such a nice job on things like this; plus you will no doubt want to download a copy so you can play along with us, so of course i will:
you can see that i even took the idea of giving some of my mats having rounded corners right from the sketch! that's what i call full-service inspiration! :)
i'm linking up with patrice at 52-card pickup, and urge you to do so, as well! the pink elephant is looking for vintage or shabby chic elements this week, and of course i have this lovely santa that i found in new york several years ago, i've been saving him for just the right thing... and when i saw the sketch i knew THIS was it! i hope you will hop over to ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ now, to see allison's and stephanie's gorgeous cards and then start planning what YOU will do with this gorgeous sketch!
Allison is definitely among the best :) Love that girl! That vintage Santa is so awesome, and the JOY rhinestones? LOVE THEM!
