...*SAD* WICH!!!
and i'm not entirely sure what the problem is...when i saw him right before lunch he seemed perfectly happy! :)

ok, so a quick poll: hands up all adults who secretly still love a peanut butter and jelly sandwich once in a while? i suspect this is mostly an american thing, but you're welcome to weigh in, wherever you are, with thoughts on the issue. feel free to delve into creamy vs. chunky peanut butter... jam vs. jelly... type of bread... anything goes! personally, i favor chunky reduced fat pb, jam with bits of fruit (any flavor but grape) and a hearty wholegrain, but i'm pretty flexible. if you don't dig pb&j, what sort of childhood foods do you still crave? discuss. :)
I do occasionally have a pb & j with chunky lite pb and usually strawberry jam preserve type jelly. I do like even more than that is peanut butter, slices of banana, and honey. That is the bomb. Now I am my waist line love ourselves white bread, but usually only have wheat in the house. I waited too long to introduce pb to the boys and they dislike it. They won't even eat it with chocolate. Strange I know. Lewis likes it on pancakes with maple syrup.
ReplyDeleteThat poor little sad sandwich! I'm afraid I've never been a PB&J fan. I do occasionally love a PB and honey or and PB and marshmallow cream sandwich, though.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE PB&J! I ate it every single day for lunch from 1st-12th grade- NO LIE! And now that I have kiddos, I still eat it a few times a week. I'm not picky, but I prefer creamy PB with raspberry or strawberry jam on whole wheat. No grape, please. :)
ReplyDeleteAnna says I put PB on everything. I like it on pretzels, bagels, bananas, a little on waffles, even off a spoon... yummy!
peanut butter & brown sugar on white bread. my Mom put those in my school lunches. I'm sure my teachers were so pleased, heh.
ReplyDeleteNo PB&J is not a British thing ... but my Mum used to make jam fritters when we were small ... jam sandwiches dipped in batter and fried ... it's the only dessert she could make that wasn't out of a packet ... Thanks for reminding me ...
ReplyDeleteYou are sooooooo funny!!! BTW, I've got candy on offer until Thursday evening so why not drop by and take a look! Jo x
ReplyDeleteLOL what a funny pic :)
ReplyDeleteok for me it has to be creamy Skippy PB and strawberry jam on good ole white bread :)
Yea for Lauren-humorous blog titles! My humble preferences: Smucker's All Natural CHUNKY peanut butter and blueberry preserves. Second choice: strawberry preserves. No grape for me…I OD'd on it in elementary school.
ReplyDeleteWhole wheat, chunky Jif (has to be Jif) and A LITTLE butter. Strange, I know, but I LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, my mommy used to make us GRILLED peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, yummo! The bread gets all toasy, the peanut butter gets all melty and gooey, and even the jam is warm. All the kids in our neighborhood would beg her to make them some, too. I bet their moms hated my mom, LOL!!
ReplyDeletelate to the pbj party BUT i absolutely treat myself - not often but i love pbj so every once in a while i indulge. Skippy peanut butter (although i recently discovered W's pb aint bad) with either apricot or raspberry preserves or jam on white toast (that has cooled - this is essential LOL - the pb cannot melt). also essential - pb must be spread on both slices of bread - so the jam doesnt seep thru!
ReplyDeleteLOL, COOL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove Skippy peanut butter, especially the chunky ones
NO CHUNKS!! Blech. Gets all stuck in my teef. Ew. So, my addition to the poll would be creamy PB (not too picky on the brand) and a really good orange marmalade (low-sugar, pref) on a hearty whole grain. Mmmm... :)
ReplyDeleteI am NOT a fan of peanut butter...I am an Australian and of course I love Vegemite!!!! I ate Vegemite sandwiches every day as a kid and even now I eat it all the time...especially on buttery toast...YUM! I should send some over for you all to try :)
ReplyDeleteCreamy Skippy. Apricot Pineapple preserves (which taste mostly like sugar!) on toasted WHITE bread. Like, scary white... Unless I really want to go way, way back to the days I ate them at my GM's house - then it's rye! XD
