can anyone tell me where the ENTIRE FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST went to??!

how is it even possible that today is august 9th? seriously? do you think whilst the bbc was working on the new series of doctor who* they accidentally jumped us ahead or something? but no, i've finished a full week of daily paper prompts from the daisy yellow blog, so i guess time is passing fair and square... just realllllly extra quickly. wanna see some pages? cool. here ya go:

DPP5: bubblegum pink (from week 1 prompt list)
in retrospect, i'm glad i could not find the picture of audrey hepburn i cut out of a magazine and intended to use on this page. because i think the quote and the collage are somehow stronger without it!

DPP6 is a two-fer combining "leftovers" and "linear"
let me say a few words about weaving: it's a total pain!!! i deliberately used TINY ribbon scraps and even so, just getting them tacked in place with adhesive took longer than every other bit of this page put together, even if you add in the time it took to make the project from which this inky painty background was the leftover/blotting paper. on the other hand, it does look nice, especially when festooned with the graphics fairy butterfly provided for us to use in our projects for this week's city crafter challenge, "let's do it again"! (note to miss linda: i am planning to make ya a card, as well, but i couldn't resist a little "test drive" in my journal!)

maybe the most FUN i've had all week was drawing this wonky space alien flower garden, it's copics over a german magazine page with some ancient love elsie epoxy circles for the flower centers. is there (plant) life on mars? uh-huh. :)

finally, i have to show you two fun and serendipitous "happy mails" that arrived two days in a row:

the delightful miss ros sent me this little collection of super-fun stuffs just because she thought they looked like *ME*; especially the vintage graphics and style of the recipe book (i concur, heartily!) plus of course she included one of her gorgeous cards and a matching notepad she made! the two cool serendipitous things she had no idea of are: 1) i was looking for a tuna+corn casserole recipe which that book HAS; and 2) i have somehow misplaced my cool recycled totebag from hawaii (which is the one i use for PO runs nearly every day!) and this london one is FAB!  thanks, missus, you are very kind!!!

this little collection came from the amazin' stef, and it's the sort of thoughtful thing she does from time to time, just randomly sends a few things she knows i will enjoy for whatever reason. here we have: a 4pg article about daniel craig :) :) :) some cool twine she had extra of, a fabulous card she knew i particularly liked, and-- just as i was having a cow over what to do with my 5x7 aj pages now that vicky barr has resigned in protest-- a 5x8 clear acryllic 3ring notebook!!!!!!!!!!!!! some people are just basically AWESOME, and miss stephanie is their spiritual leader! :)

speaking of whom, JUST WAIT until you see what she has devised for the upcoming fortnight at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥! i've sworn not to tell, so pleeeeeeeeease come either here or over there at midnight and see, ok? worth it, honest! ♥♥♥

*teaser trailer for DW series 7 is HERE... and, incidentally, it's awesome! :)
**my lovely ICAD friend olivia has made--imo--the coolest page EVER for this prompt and you should go and see it! ♥

  8. Those hand-drawn flowers are magical ... and I really love the text on the first one ... I should print it and hang it in my cubicle to remind myself of some of those truths. Hugs to you.

  10. Very entertaining post!!! I love all your creations here - Love the rose with the quote, the weaving is fabulous (I've got an old weaving toy somewhere - I'll have to give weaving a try) and as for your whimsical flowers, just gorgeous!
